An important on page optimisation technique is Meta Tag Optimisation. Meta Tags are HTML code or tags that are used to instruct the search engines on how to ‘spider’ your site against what phrases. It basically tells the search engines what your page is about.
To optimise Title Tags and Title Description the following steps need to be followed for each page:
- Choose your keywords
- Create the website content based on these keywords
- Create a Title Tag which includes these keywords
- Create a Meta description tag, also based on the keywords.
This is a good start to on page optimisation, which is essentially making a web page as relevant as possible for the target keywords.
